| Book Updates February 17, 2008 Looks like the folk at Comics Factory have the cover to my Russian edition of Rehabilitating Mr. Wiggles Vol. 1 posted on their website.
It's a little weird (and awesomely cool) to see my name in not just another language, but another alphabet entirely. I'm still not sure when the book is officially coming out, but I can't imagine it will be much longer. A couple of months maybe? The last I heard was that it had been shipped to the printer, but then they needed a few more comics because of some issue where two pages had to be added. I don't know. Anyway, I'll let you know as soon as I know an arrival date. In Italy, it seems like my book's selling well. At least based off of the emails I've been receiving from people who have purchased it. I haven't heard any numbers yet so I can't accurately say, but I'm hopeful. I'm going to Italy at the end of March (March 27th - April 5th to be exact) and am working with my publishers to set up some kind of signing while I'm there. I'm spending a few days in Rome, a few days in Florence, few in Tuscany, and am flying out of Venice at the end of the trip. If you're an Italian fan, hopefully I'll be able to meet you. So...back home, I'm working on the third Mr. Wiggles book for you guys in the good ol' U.S. of A. All the comics are done and ready to be compiled. I just need to draw the cover and package the whole thing, which is going to take a little time since I have to balance that out with my animation work on Super Jail. Unless any big publishers out there contact me in the next couple of months, I'll be self-publishing this volume as I did the first volume. I've been weighing the options of being published with a comics publisher like NBM (who did my second volume) again versus self-publishing and decided that it's really in my best interest to self-publish in the US. There are a lot of reasons that went into this decision that maybe I'll talk about at some other point or when I'm doing press for the book, but for now just know that I'll be taking care of it and am looking forward to putting out a high-quality book. Of course, if any large publishers out there are interested, now would be the time to get in touch with me. If all goes according to plan, I'm hoping my US book will be on sale in June or shortly after. One thing I am looking for: quotes. I have lots of great quotes from magazines and papers to put on the book, but would love to have something by somebody influential (a celebrity, famous cartoonist, Pulitzer Prize winner, magazine editor, etc.) to put on the cover. If, on the astronomical chance, anyone reading this falls into this category and would like to lend a quote to the book, please get in touch with me. Rolling Stone Italy If you're in Italy, be sure to check out the new issue of Rolling Stone to read an article/interview with me. Thanks to Alessandro D'Ottavi for making it all happen!
